Love this graphic, Gabriel. Been there as a child myself as well as watching my own son let it go. We set some balloons free in our backyard with a dollar in a ziplock baggie attached, thinking how cool it would be for someone far off to come across it. Only problem was that the balloons got caught in some branches and have been dangling up there since. My drawing would've had the father and kid looking up at the balloon.
thanks for your comment Dana. There is something truly beautiful about a child willing to let something they value go. My kids were just so excited to send their balloons up into the unknown. They still imagine them up in space somewhere and I'm not about to spoil that image in their minds.
